Clinical Dermatology in Hyderabad
Clinical dermatology is the medical side of what we do. Before any cosmetic procedure, the skin condition itself needs a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Most skin problems have a root cause, and that is where treatment starts.
Root Cause Resolution
We find what is causing it. Then we treat it.
Radiofrequency Cautery
RF cautery uses controlled heat to remove skin tags, warts, moles, and other small benign growths. The procedure takes a few minutes, heals within a week, and leaves minimal scarring when done correctly. I prefer RF over older methods like electrocautery because the tissue damage is more controlled, which matters on the face.
- Quick in-clinic procedure with local anaesthesia
- Minimal scarring compared to surgical excision
- Works for skin tags, warts, DPNs, and small moles
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel applies a controlled acid solution to the skin surface. It removes damaged outer layers and triggers fresh cell turnover. We use different peels for different problems. Salicylic acid works well for active acne. Glycolic peels help with dullness and mild pigmentation. TCA peels go deeper and are useful for acne scars and stubborn melasma, though they need more downtime.
- Multiple peel types matched to your specific concern
- Effective for acne, acne marks, melasma, and uneven tone
- Sessions are 20-30 minutes with no major downtime for lighter peels
Acne Management
Acne is not just a teenage problem. I regularly treat adults in their 20s and 30s, particularly women with hormonal acne linked to PCOS or irregular cycles. Comedonal acne responds to topicals and peels. Inflammatory or cystic acne often needs oral medication. Diet plays a role too. Dairy and high-glycemic foods make things worse for many patients, and I discuss this during consultations rather than just handing out prescriptions.
- Root cause approach covering hormones, diet, and skincare habits
- Comedone extraction and peels alongside medication
- Long-term plan to reduce recurrence, not just clear the current breakout
Melasma and Pigmentation
Pigmentation is the most common concern I see at the clinic, and melasma is the most frustrating one for patients. Indian skin produces melanin aggressively in response to sun, heat, and hormonal changes. There is no single treatment that fixes melasma permanently. What works is a combination of the right depigmenting agents, sun protection that patients actually follow, and periodic in-clinic treatments like peels or Q-switched laser sessions. I spend time setting realistic expectations because melasma is a condition you manage over time.
- Combination therapy using topicals, peels, and laser where appropriate
- Practical sun protection guidance suited to Indian weather
- Honest timeline expectations so you are not disappointed by slow results
Hair Loss Treatment
Hair thinning has multiple causes and the treatment depends entirely on the diagnosis. Male and female pattern hair loss are genetic and progressive. They need early treatment with minoxidil, oral medications, or PRP therapy to slow things down. But I also see patients whose hair loss is from iron deficiency, thyroid problems, PCOS, or crash dieting. These respond well once the underlying issue is corrected. Blood work is usually the first step before we start anything.
- Diagnosis-first approach with blood investigations when needed
- Topical, oral, and PRP treatment options
- Addresses genetic hair loss and reversible causes like deficiencies
Eczema and Dermatitis
Eczema tends to be a long-term condition with flares and remissions. I treat atopic dermatitis in both children and adults, contact dermatitis from cosmetics or occupational irritants, and seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp and face. The goal is always two things: control the current flare and reduce how often flares happen. This means finding triggers, using the right moisturiser consistently, and knowing when to use steroids and when to stop.
- Clear plan for both flare treatment and long-term prevention
- Guidance on moisturisers, trigger avoidance, and steroid use
- Atopic, contact, and seborrheic dermatitis across all age groups
Wart and Molluscum Treatment
Warts and molluscum contagiosum are viral infections that spread by contact. Warts are common on hands and feet. Molluscum shows up frequently in children. Both can be left alone in some cases, but patients usually want them removed because they are spreading or because of how they look. We treat these with RF cautery or cryotherapy depending on the size, number, and location. Multiple sessions may be needed since the virus can cause new lesions even after the visible ones are cleared.
- RF cautery and cryotherapy options depending on lesion type
- Safe treatment for both children and adults
- Guidance on preventing spread to other areas or family members
